Ito Farm

Come visit us on Ito Farm and get closer to nature by taking part in milking and pasturage activities. You will have a great time amongst the cows, who you will find are full of character!

Milking experience

Once you give cow-milking a try, you'll forget all about their size and will quickly develop a fondness for these charming creatures. You'll be surprised by the unique feeling of the cow's udders!

Season:Throughout the year
Time:Approximately 30 minutes *Starts at 11:00
Fee:600 yen

Farming experience

You will start out feeding milk to the calves and then feeding the mother cows, so you can get used to being around them.  Once you're used to them, it's time to move on to milking.  Then, to round off the whole experience, you'll have the chance to make butter and enjoy it with a bagel and milk.

Time:Approximately 2 hours  *Starts at 13:00
Feeding milk to calves, feeding mother cows, milking, and making butter (includes a bagel and milk)

An interactive hands-on-experience center for processing agricultural products "Kuttara"

kuttara"Kuttara" is an interactive hands-on-experience center for processing agricultural products located on Ogasawara Farm.  Situated high on a hilltop, it boasts breathtaking scenery such as views of the distant world heritage site Shiretoko.  "Kuttara" (which means "having fun through food"), offers you the chance to have unique and enjoyable experiences while getting to know much more about food.

Dairy product processing experience (Ice cream)

Time:Approximately 40 minutes
Fee:1500 yen/person (including instructor fee. Material expense is to be paid separately.)

Processing smoked goods (sausages)

Time:Approximately 1 hours
Fee:3000 yen/person (including instructor fee. Material expense is to be paid separately.)

*In this course, each participant will make approximately 400g of sausages.

Making soba

You can try making soba noodles using local buckwheat.

Time:Approximately 1 hours
Fee:2000 yen/person (including instructor fee. Material expense is to be paid separately.)
